Joint Presentation Focuses on Groundbreaking Methodology for E-Records
SAN JOSE, CA – May 5, 2014ZL Technologies, Inc. (ZL), ZL Technologies, Inc. (ZL), a leader in comprehensive unstructured Big Data management for large organizations, will be presenting at the National Conference on Managing Electronic Records (MER) on May 21, in partnership with representatives from the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). The event, which is widely renowned as the premier venue for top records management professionals, has elite standards for providing educational content and engaging sessions by industry leaders.
The unstructured data of files, email, and other human communication continue to grow by leaps and bounds, overwhelming traditional methodology and IT infrastructure for records management systems. As one of the primary agencies tasked with meeting objectives for the Executive Branch records management directive, NARA has a visionary leadership role for shaping best practices and guiding adoption of technological strategies in the records management field. The joint presentation, “Taming the Email Gorilla in the Room — From Concept to Reality,” is a case study focused on NARA’s own path to comprehensive email management via the innovative “Capstone” approach, and discusses further ways that data not traditionally considered “record” material can be harnessed for strategic use. With an emphasis on unified architecture, ZL Technologies provides insight on complete information governance that cannot be attained with ECM approaches or data “silo” systems.
For most large government and business organizations, it has become increasingly clear that ad hoc solutions for specific functions such as records management and e-discovery are falling short of their original roles and prevent the effective aggregation and search of data. Also, with the increasing role of analytics as a decision driver, unstructured information demands a unified repository where high-level analysis can be performed from within the data universe, not outside of it. This need is especially pressing for federal agencies, which must utilize information governance platforms that can comply with eFOIA requests and searches, stringent DoD 5015.2 security requirements, and increasing use of Gmail and cloud environments.
The presentation is scheduled for May 21 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the MER Conference in Chicago. For attendees of the show, individual meetings with experts from ZL Technologies can be scheduled with the online registration system. More information on the speaking session can be found at the MER event website or the official event brochure.
